Gamer commits suicide on GameFAQ's MGS forum
01.19.06 (11:41 am)   [edit]
I could not believe this when I read about it this morning. An American gamer who frequented the Metal Gear Solid forums on GameFAQ's ended  his life  the other day after telling his friends on the forum that troubles in his life were unbareable and not worth living through. This article published on  Yahoo! News explains in greater detail how he switched on his webcam showing the forum's members pouring engine anti-freeze down his throat then the apparent side affects of the liquid through his body.

This lasted (according to Yahoo news) a few hours as the anti-freeze did its work. Nobody from the forum had heard from 'Kudjo' (his forum nickname) and people were starting to get worried.

"After he failed to appear at regular meeting spots, gamers went to his home and learnt he died in hospital on January 7" - Yahoo News.

What's really chilling is his final words which can be found here on the now closed Metal Gear Solid forum. He goes into saying how his friends on the forum were as best friends were, comparable to his real life friends and that he was going to end it. There was some initial confusion as to wheather he was going to be leaving the forum as a member, or ending his life. Unfortunately the latter rang true and people started to get worried.

You can check out the Yahoo news article and his final words then let us know what you think.

Yeha, i don't really understand suicide at all. I don't see how things can get that bad that you have to end your life. I guess some people feel thats the only way to escape it.

Wow ... you see people post stuff like that on message boards, and then you find out they're not serious ... then to hear about it actually happening is really sad. It's too bad he couldn't turn to anyone.
